Georgia Tech Sailing Club Instruction
Every semester we teach a basic Learn to Sail course that is offered
through the GT Options Program. The class covers the basics of sailing including: parts of the boat,
right of way, boat maneuvering, useful knots, safety, and an introduction to sailing at GT. The course is
taught by US Sailing Certified Instructors and incorporates class room time and clinics at Lake Lanier.

On-the-water training takes place at the Lake Lanier Sailing Club in our new Club 420s (like the
ones shown in the pictures above). These boats are the most widely used sailboats in both "Learn to Sail"
Programs and the International Collegiate Sailing Association (we have six of them!). Dinghy Qualification is the
first step towards getting qualified to use the club's more advanced boats (Hobie 16s, Lasers, and J-24s).
